By Benjamin Flowers: When Leader of the Opposition Moses Shyne Barrow made his recent appearance on the Wendy Williams Show, he told hosts Fat Joe and Remy Ma that he is the leader of the House of Representatives, an error that Prime Minister John Briceño says is a trademark of the way Barrow usually speaks.
Briceño, speaking to the media this week, reminded that, as the Prime Minister of the country, he is the leader of the House, and wrote it off as a slip of the tongue on Shyne’s part.
“That’s okay, that’s okay. I think he misspoke, as usual, always putting his foot in his mouth. But I guess hopefully he will learn soon,” Briceno said.
The Prime Minister did share his distaste for Shyne’s efforts internationally, condemning the way he is carrying himself and using the opportunity to promote himself instead of Belize.
“He’s making a fool of himself and they are looking at us as a laughing stock when he’s there promoting because he is there promoting himself, not promoting Belize. So talking that he is a rapper and now he dah di leader and wah be Prime Minister; when he is not talking about Belize itself – the beauty of Belize, the people, the challenges and things that can be done. It is a self-promoting tour and not about Belize,” Briceno added.
