Punta Gorda police constable charged with rape of a 13-year-old girl

By BBN Staff: Punta Gorda police have charged one of their own for the rape of a child.

Acting on a report they received on Tuesday, officers went to an address in Indian Creek Village where cops found Police Constable Giovanni Choc, 23, in a room with three females inside.

Following the incident, a 13-year-old girl in the presence of her mother reported that Choc had sex with her on two separate occasions (December 5 or December 6 of 2021, and February 8, 2022; the day of the bust).

Choc was formally arrested and charged on Thursday on two counts of rape of a child. He was arraigned on Friday morning and remanded to prison until his next appearance in court on May 11.
