Albert Davis from Maskall won the Victor Martin Valentine’s 15K held in Belize City from Price Barracks on the Philip Goldson Highway to Freetown Reserve across from Atlantic Bank on Freetown Road in Belize City.

The race offered over $5,000 in prizes with each category winner winning $300. The second-place winners collected $200 and the third-place winners $100, said the organizers.

Davis clocked 48 minutes and 35 seconds (48:35). Coast Guard Mario Cucul from Big Falls, Toledo, was second in 49:23.

Third place was taken by Leon O’Brien from Belize City in 49:55.

Kliuvert Cal was fourth in 57:28 and Luis August Jr was fifth in 59:48. August was first in the Masters 50+.

Egbert Augustine finished in sixth in1:00:48

Hazeel Canul took seventh in 1:01:27.

Ana Camp was eighth in 1:02:09.

Ninth place belonged to Amado Cruz in 1:04:00 and tenth place was won by Isla Matheson in 1:05:14.

Chester Arzu won the Masters 40+ in 1:13:42. Leonicio Castillo was second in 1:14:07 and Aldo Salazar finished third in 1:29:15.

August won the Masters 50+ followed by Derrick Castillo (1:21:45) and Luis Hauze (1:22:33).

Freetown Reserve’s Rodvern Lino said 32 runners competed in Saturday morning’s race.
