‘We can’t let our guard down’ – Derrrick Chavarria of 501 Valvoline cycling team on the Digi Valentine’s Cycling Tour

The Digi Valentine’s Tour is coming on Saturday and Sunday, February 19 and 20, in the Belize District.

“My 501 Valvoline cycling team expects to have a safe, competitive, and potentially victorious race while of course having fun along with the other teams,” said Caribbean Junior Champions Derrick Chavarria.

“I personally see G-Flow as the main competition, however, we can’t let our guard down from Westrac, M&M, FaL, Cycology, and other teams, because after all, they are still riding against us.”

The Digi Valentine’s Tour starts on Saturday morning at 8:00 with a 3.6 miles prologue on the John Smith Road starting at the Philip Goldson International Airport roundabout.

The second stage is to be run on Saturday afternoon on the Bermudian Landing circuit. The Women and Men Juniors/Youth start their 30-mile stage at 1:00 pm.

The Open Elite/U23/Masters will then compete in a double lap 60-mile stage on the same circuit sprinting off at 2:30pm.

The Open Elite/U23/Masters categories will ride 102 miles in the third and final stage on Sunday morning at 10:00. They will do a double lap on the route that takes off at Digi Mirab to Hattieville – Data Pro – Faber’s Rd – back to Data Pro and return the same way to finish in front of Digi Mirab.

The Women and the Men Juniors and Youths will do a 51-mile lap on the same route. The women start at 10:30 am and the Juniors and Youth cyclists do so at 10:35 am.
