Two suspects wanted in Belmopan murder

By Aaron Humes: Police have named two suspects wanted in the ambush murder of 20-year-old Karina Andrews of Belize City which occurred Saturday night in Belmopan.

According to police, Andrews was traveling with a group of eight persons in total, six men and two women, all except for one of Belize City.

They were at Stars Restaurant when they noticed someone going in and out of the building. Their suspicions aroused, they decided to leave in the white van they were traveling in.

However, upon reaching the roundabout after passing Cabanas restaurant going into Belmopan, police say, they slowed down at the bump and a grey Honda vehicle overtook them and someone began shooting in their direction. They sped off in the direction of the hospital as they observed Karina Andrews was lying on the floor bleeding.

Also injured by gunfire were Joshua Jones, Devon Vasquez, and Emerson Vasquez, listed in a stable condition. The other occupants appear to be unharmed.

Two persons are being sought in connection with the incident as part of Police investigations.
