Ana Lopez Camp wins 2022 A Corozal Valentine’s 5K

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Ana Lopez Camp won the Women’s Category in the 2022 A Corozal Valentine’s 5K on Sunday in Corozal Town.

Lopez Camp from Esperanza won the 5K race for Team Splash in 22 minutes, 10.6 seconds (22:10.6), according to Belize Running Events.

Lopez’s teammate Martha Novelo from San Roman, Corozal, was second in 25:22.3.

Mirtha Welch running for the Roaring Creek Vet Clinic was third in 25:55.0.

Belize City’s Ivania Sánchez running for Lionman Fitness ran in fourth in 29:46.3.

Fifth place was taken by Belize City’s Sandy Perez representing Heart & Sole and clocking 31:26.8.

Rosalie Requeña from Burrell Boom and running for The Belize Bank stopped the clock at 34:45.8 finishing sixth.

Then came Corozal Town’s Alisha Briceño who took seventh in 37:47.5.

Corozal’s Vianie Garcia was eighth in 38:01.2.

Daphne McFadzean from Willow’s Bank finished ninth in 42:16.9.

Elvita Villanueva of The Cho’s in Corozal Town rounded off the Top Ten in 43:15.4.

Sixteen of the 17 women who signed up competed and finished the 5K.
