Chamber of Commerce gives back to nurses

Posted: Monday, February 14, 2022. 4:12 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The membership of the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has raised $30,000 in-kind and cash for packages to be distributed to nurses at the public health facilities countrywide starting today, Monday.

In a statement, the Chamber said, “This is a collective effort by our members and some in the general business community… We know that the nurses make up only a small number of the front-line workers who have supported the country in this time of the pandemic; however, “It is the small things that make a huge difference”.

The Chamber salutes 39 sponsors running almost down the English alphabet from A (Atlantic Insurance Company) to almost Z (Yello).

The Chamber also takes this opportunity to thank all front-line workers and the general community for supporting each other in order to reduce the spread of this virus and encourage patrons of its members to continue to abide by the safety protocols set out by the Ministry of Health and Wellness – take your vaccine, wear your mask, wash your hands and keep your distance.
