Belize’s midfielder Ashley Rodriguez expects ‘a great outcome’ against El Salvador today

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “The preparations have gone well, and I really expect that all our work, hard work put into the preparation, will bring us a great outcome on our game on the 16th of February,” said Rodriguez in a promotional live stream done by the Football Federation of Belize’s Communications and Marketing Director Yashmin Juan.

“I won’t say that I’m not nervous because I do get nervous before a big game, but I think that by game day my nervousness goes down, and then I’d be more mentally prepared,” said the midfielder who hails from Armenia in the Cayo District.

Belize faces El Salvador on Wednesday at 3:30 pm at the Cuscatlán Stadium in San Salvador. The match is both countries first qualifying match on the road to the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand and the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
