By Benjamin Flowers: Today the Government of Belize announced that the wholesale and retail prices of Liquefied Реtrоlеum Gаѕ (LРG)(butаnе) will be going up.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise said that both prices will see an increase of 33 cents in urban and rural areas.
The new price in urbаn аrеаѕ is $1.36 per pound and $6.43 per gallon. Meanwhile, the new price in rural areas is $1.38 and $6.53.
The ministry said that the price increase is the result of an increase in the acquisition cost of propane and butane.
Today the price of premium gasoline also saw a price increase, however, up to this point, GOB has still not officially announced that increase.
