Belize Canoe Association holds Boom to the City Canoe Race on Sunday, February 20

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Canoe Association (BCA) will be staging the Boom to the City Canoe Race (Powered by Guinness) on Sunday, February 20.

Xibalba/PACT, comprised of Amado Cruz and Daniel Cruz, who won the Shaila & Chastelyn Land Consultancy New River Race last Sunday in the Corozal District is one of the favourites.

The next four teams in last Sunday’s race should also be tops this weekend: Thomas Penner – Efrain Cruz and Henner Cruz, Belize Coast Guard – Wilberto Daniels and Kenrick Daniels, Guava Limb’s – Javier Guardado and Andres Cabb, and C’s Pharmacy – Carlos Linares and Jesús Linares.

The Mixed Teams winners, Ruth Cruz and Christian Lopez, should also be contending.

The Boom to the City Canoe Race starts at 10:00 am at the Riverside Park in Burrell Boom and heads to Belize City where it finishes by the Riverside Tavern.

Registration is $100 per team. Registration for the race starts at 9:00 am.

BCA president Elvin Penner said awards and cash prizes will be given to the winning teams in the Men’s, Women’s, Masters, Juniors, C2, and Extramural teams.
