BEL plans power outages in Corozal, Orange Walk Districts on Sunday, February 20

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: BEL said the company plans a power outage in the Corozal and Orange Walk Districts on Sunday, February 20.

One outage will affect the entire Corozal District except for Buena Vista and Caledonia villages, and will be from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The other set of outages will affect the entire Orange Walk District plus Buena Vista and Caledonia. These outages will be from 7:00 am to 7:15 am and from 2:45 pm to 3:00 pm.

BEL said that these outages are “to conduct maintenance and commission new equipment at the Corozal Substation, relocate and install high voltage line poles and hardware as part of Ministry of Works’ Road Work projects for Chan Chen and San Pedro Village Roads, relocate transmission lines as part of upgrades along the Philip Goldson Highway and replace transmission cable at the Rio Hondo crossing into Mexico.”
