Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital announces relocation of triage area

By Benjamin Flowers: Today the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Authority (KHMHA) announced that it will be relocating its triage area (where patients are screened on arrival to the Accident and Emergency [A&E] Department) as of Monday, February 21.

The KHMHA issued a public notice today noting that the triage area, which was relocated to the immediate right of the 1CHMHA Lobby as a part of the hospital s COVID-19 response, will revert back to its original location at the main entrance adjacent to the original A&E at the big iron gate.

“The relocation is necessary and timely as the KIHMHA, still dealing with a steady stream of Covid admissions, continues to make important adjustments to ensure that we meet the healthcare needs of our most urgent and critical patients,” the KHMHA said. “Currently renovation is being done to facilitate the relocation of the Accident & Emergency Department, and upon completion, the general public will be informed.”

The KHMHA asked all regional hospitals, ambulance service providers, taxi operators, and the general public to take note of the change, assuring that hospital staff will be on hand to provide guidance and ensure efficient movement.
