By Aaron Humes: The Associated Press reports that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 95, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier today, Sunday, UK time.
The monarch is said to be experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but will continue with light formal duties in isolation at Windsor Castle, Berkshire, this week.
She is double-vaccinated and boosted.
The Queen joins son and heir Charles, Prince of Wales, and his wife Camilla who were diagnosed in recent weeks.
The Queen recently marked 70 years on the throne on February 6 but has had to take time off after spending a night in hospital for tests last October. She has held audiences virtually and in-person but has not recently traveled, though she is scheduled for a number of in-person public engagements in the coming weeks.
The Queen is currently head of state of 15 Commonwealth realms including Belize.
