By BBN Staff: Trevor Thomas, a security guard at St. Martin de Porres Primary School, appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today, charged with breaching curfew on December 13, 2021.
In court, he asked if he could plead guilty with a cause but was told he needed to make his plea before he could explain. He pleaded guilty and explained that he was leaving work and showed the officers that stopped him that he held a valid pass for exception from curfew because of his job; however, the officers still charged him.
When asked by the court if he had the pass to show, Thomas said he did not have it on him. The case was then adjourned until March 14, at which time he needs to prove to the court that he was exempt from curfew at the time of his charge.
He was granted bail in the sum of $800 which he met.
