Woman dies after allegedly jumping from moving vehicle

By BBN Staff: Police have confirmed that a woman is dead after allegedly jumping out of a moving vehicle on Sunday evening.

Iris Miranda was the passenger in a vehicle traveling in the vicinity of Maya Center Village in the Stann Creek District when she exited the vehicle that was still in motion, police said on Monday.

She received severe injuries to her head and body upon impact. Dangriga police arrived on the scene sometime after and took her to the Southern Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police have since detained the driver for questioning as a part of an ongoing investigation.
