Man charged for chopping his cousin with machete during altercation

By BBN Staff: A 32-year-old man from Lemonal Village has been criminally charged for chopping his own cousin with a machete during an altercation over the weekend.

Ryan Sutherland was reportedly caught by his cousin Wilhelm Bull in his yard stealing a turtle shell on Saturday, February 19.
When told to leave, Sutherland got into an argument with Bull and allegedly pulled out a machete and chopped him, inflicting serious injuries.

In court, he was charged with one count of wounding and one count of use of deadly means of harm to which he pleaded not guilty.

He was granted bail and is due back in court on April 21.

Bull was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment and was later released.
