By Aaron Humes: There were 12 new cases of COVID-19 in San Pedro Town, putting the island municipality at the top of the increasingly smaller daily COVID-19 table for the first time since the pandemic began – when it recorded the first cases.
Belize City, with eight new cases, was pushed to second place.
However, the Cayo District (17) added more new cases than mainland Belize District (13), led by four in Roaring Creek, three in the Twin Towns, two in Benque Viejo, and two in Belmopan and Maya Mopan.
In addition to the Old Capital, Ladyville reported three new cases and La Democracia and Western Paradise one each.
The northern districts combined for 13 new cases led by four in Orange Walk Town, while down south, Stann Creek and Toledo combined for 21 cases, but only one in Dangriga, three in Independence and none in Punta Gorda Town.
