Verdes, San Pedro lead FFB Top League

Verdes and San Pedro Pirates lead the FFB Top League with nine points each after three consecutive wins.

With the victories over the weekend, both cemented their lead in the Closing Championship and shook off Altitude. At least for now.

Verdes are tops because of a far better differential having scored 14 goals and allowed only one. San Pedro have only scored three goals but haven’t allowed any goals yet.

Altitude fell from the lead as they lost 1-0 to San Pedro dropping to the third spot with six points. In the Opening Championship, Altitude won the first game and tied the second against the islanders who were hurting, and got one back with their win on Sunday.

Garden City and Wagiya follow in the 4th and 5th spots with one point each gained from their 1-1 draw against each other on the weekend. Both have scored only one goal and allowed seven. With all things even, having the biggest loss of the season, a 5-0 blowout by Verdes, is the reason Wagiya are 5th.

Belize City’s Caesar Ridge bring up the rear without any point in their three outings.
