Third shooting in hours reported as two men injured

By Aaron Humes: Police have detained a suspect in a shooting attack on two Belize City men in front of a church in the Fabers’ Road Extension area.

Ralph McField and Jovani Gabourel were standing in front of the Mount of Olives Seventh Day Adventist Church when a white van passed around 7:00 p.m. and thereafter they heard several shots fired in their direction.

Both men were shot in the lower body and were hospitalized in stable condition. Police investigations continue.

This is the third shooting incident reported in Belize City in five hours following incidents minutes earlier on Vernon Street and earlier this afternoon on Central American Boulevard, but there are no indications at present that any of the incidents are linked.
