By Rubén Morales Iglesias: San Pedro Pirates will be playing FFB Top League champions Verdes at home in San Pedro at Ambergris Stadium on Saturday, February 26.

The match is the hottest game this weekend as it features the home-standing second place teams and the actual leaders of the Closing Championship.

The match is slated to start at 6:30 pm at the San Pedro field which has not seen action in quite a while.

Verdes are set on their bid to not only repeat as champions but also to gain the ticket to the Concacaf League which they can get by winning both the Opening and Closing Championships or by the cumulative regular-season points from the two championships.

San Pedro on the other hand, after beating Altitude last week and taking the second spot for themselves are intent on winning the closing championship. That would give them a shot at the Concacaf ticket even if Verdes top the cumulative points table.

So, expect a big match at San Pedro on Saturday evening.
