Week ends on high note with active COVID-19 cases below 1,500

By BBN Staff: Belize approaches the end of February having tested nearly 481 thousand persons, Belizeans and otherwise, for COVID-19.

Of the 499 thousand total tests administered, 424,192 have been negative and 56,597 positive, including 72 new cases today.

This represents a daily positivity rate of 5.87 percent and 11.8 percent overall with 220 new recoveries reported. A further 104 samples are under investigation.

Thus the total number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,451, about a sixth of where it was a month ago.
