18-year-old shooting victim Leonard Castro stabilized

By Aaron Humes: The victim of Friday night’s shooting incident has been identified as 18-year-old Leonard Castro of Lakeview Street.

Castro was at a house in an alley off Lakeview Street near Banak Street when someone fired several shots towards him causing his injuries. After he was shot, Castro managed to run towards Lakeview Street to escape further injury.

Castro is in stable condition in hospital with a gunshot injury to the elbow.

The area is known for an internecine rivalry that has caused multiple injuries and deaths in recent months.

Police investigation into this latest incident continues.
