501 Valvoline’s team leader Oscar Quiroz and L39ION of Los Angeles’ Belizean-Americans Justin and Cory Williams lead the initial list of cyclists the Cycling Federation of Belize (CFB) will consider for the 2022 Commonwealth Games. According to the CFB, 28 cyclists, 25 men and three women, are being considered in the initial list announced on Friday.
501 Valvoline’s brothers Joslyn and Derrick Chavarria, and Brandon Cattouse, Westrac Alliance’s Byron Pope, brothers Jafari, and Wasani Castro, Angel Tzib, and G Flow’s Giovanni Lovell, Shawn Codd, and Jyven Gonzalez are among other cyclists included in the long list.
Kaya Cattouse, Alicia Thompson, and Patricia Chavarria are the three women cyclists.
The CFB will eventually whittle down the list to five men and two women when advised by the International Olympic Committee. In the meantime, all the cyclists will have to prove themselves to make the final cut.
