By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing handed over two houses to residents of Orange Walk East.
Area Representative and Minister of Health and Wellness Kevin Bernard said the homes were handed over to Nidia Rodriguez from Chan Pine Ridge and Edwardo Hinds of Santa Martha.
“Having a home is the form of having a family,” said Minister Bernard on social media.
“Today, alongside the Prime Minister [John Briceño], the Minister for Infrastructure Development and Housing Julius Espat and CEO for that Ministry [Victor Espat], I was happy to hand over the keys of the first two homes for 2 families in Orange Walk East. This is the first time any homes have ever been delivered to anyone in OW East. This is a commitment of the Government of Belize.”
Minister Bernard said he was extremely pleased because the houses were being handed over to the people who need it most.
He said more persons will benefit from the present housing program and “many more” will also benefit from another housing program under the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing.
The Health Minister closed his post saying that the housing program is part of the Government’s Plan Belize at work, fulfilling their commitments to the people of Orange Walk East.
