By BBN Staff: There is an ongoing power outage in Orange Walk Town that is set to continue into this afternoon, as well as another outage planned for select villages in the Orange Walk district.
Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) said that the Orange Walk Town outage began at 7:00 a.m. and will run until 3:00 p.m. Areas affected by this outage are: Oleander Street, Orchid Drive, Clark Street, a portion of Daisy Street, Yo Creek Street, Bougainvillea Avenue, Casia Street, Poinsetta Street, Hibiscus Street and Jabiru Street.
Meanwhile, there was an outage this morning from 7:00 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., and a second such outage planned for 2:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Areas affected by these outages are: Otro Benque Road, Tate Street, Lyle Street, Westby Alley, Ketz Lagoon Street, Holy Trinity Street, Dubloon Street, Honey Camp Street, San Lorenzo Boulevard, San Lorenzo Housing Site, Black Water, Trial Farm, Laskot Subdivision, Indian Hill; portion Stadium Street, Fonseca Street, San Narciso Street, San Juan Alley, San Franciso Street, New York Alley, portion Progress Street, San Andres Street and area in Union Town from Belize Street to San Martin Street.
BEL explained that the outages are to facilitate the upgrades of powerlines in these areas.
