Altitude barely manage to edge Wagiya 1-0 in FFB Top League

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Altitude had to work extremely hard to down Wagiya 1-0 in the Battle of the South at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga in the FFB Top League’ Closing Championship.

Luis ‘Baca’ Torres smoked Argentine goalkeeper Miguel Eduardo Garro Bonessi from the line on the 18-yard box off a pass from Miguel García in the 43^rd minute. Garro got his hands on the ball but the missile had so much force it fell inside the goal.

That goal was enough for Altitude to regain the second spot over the San Pedro Pirates. Both teams now have nine points, but Altitude have a better goal difference: 5-1 to 3-1.

The other games also finished 1-0 with the visiting teams victorious.

National football champions Verdes defeated the San Pedro Pirates 1-0 at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro while Caesar Ridge fell 1-0 at the MCC Grounds in Belize City to Belmopan’s Garden City.
