Police charge men found with stolen Hilux from Hattieville home invasion

Posted: Tuesday, March 1, 2022. 5:38 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Police have arrested and charged two men who were found in possession of a vehicle that was reported stolen.

Today, officers formally charged 34-year-old Charlie Martinez, and 23-year-old Angel Mayen, both of Bullet Tree Falls Village, Cayo District, for the crime of handling stolen goods.

Police stopped the men at a checkpoint in the Bullet Tree on the morning of Sunday, February 27, after being alerted of a home invasion in Hattieville that resulted in the theft of a Toyota Hilux.

Police say those investigations are ongoing to determine the culprits responsible for the aggravated burglary, where the Hattieville family was held at gunpoint and tied up while three men dressed in camouflage gear searched and looted their home.
