St. Martin’s Credit Union donates computer equipment and software to Polyclinic in Benque

CONTRIBUTED: On February 24, 2022, the St. Martin’s Credit Union Limited (SMCU) donated a laptop, a desktop UPS along with Microsoft Office licenses to the Dr. Kenneth and Kevin Guerra Polyclinic in Benque Viejo Town. This donation is part of St. Martin’s Credit Union community outreach program. Considering the Covid-19 pandemic, the SMCU’s normal outreach programs were placed on halt due to the safety protocols implemented; therefore, the Credit Union could not reach out and interact with members as much as they did in a pre-covid world.

As part of SMCU’s community give-back, donations have been made to the San Ignacio Police Station (motorcycle), food hampers to members affected by flooding in the Calla Creek and Bullet Tree areas and now, to the Benque Viejo community.

The donation will be useful to the polyclinic especially in the area of outreach. The donation was presented to the Deputy Regional Director for the Cayo District, Ms. Lily Guerra, by the Officer in Charge of our Benque Branch, Ms. Camille Cal, who was accompanied by General Manager, Raymond Michael Tzul and Acting Officer in Charge, Mrs. Tanya Altamirano. It is SMCU’s hope that this donation will assist the clinic for many years to come and in turn benefiting the community as well. St. Martin’s Credit Union indicated that it “is committed to the development of the local communities we work in and will continue to provide support in whatever way we can”.
