By BBN Staff: A woman who stands accused of threatening to kill her son’s girlfriend along with the girlfriend’s children has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison.

Fifty-four-year-old Ava Belgrave appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday where she was charged with one count of threatening words and one count of harm.

She pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of $800, plus one surety of the same. The court also ordered that she refrain from interacting with the complainant or interfering with any of the prosecution’s witnesses.

However, she was unable to meet bail and was remanded into custody until her next court appearance, set for April 7.

The incident of complaint happened on Friday, February 25, where an altercation between her and the victim allegedly turned violent.
