By BBN Staff: Police have arrested another man for gang affiliation as part of an ongoing crackdown on Belize City gangs.
Today police formally charged 21-year-old, Robert Lamb, for “being a member of a gang” specifically the Antelope/Horse and Carriage/1 Slap clique of the George Street Gang.
Gang activity in the City caused a spike in violent crime particularly in the Antelope Street Extension area last month, leading to increased police anti-gang operations.
At the height of the violence, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams warned gang elements that he was past trying to conduct mediation sessions and even refused to attend one such session.
Williams stressed that officers will be aggressively pursuing gang members and their activities within the City to ensure the safety of residents.
