By BBN Staff: Four fishermen from northern Belize are out on bail tonight after they were caught by fisheries authorities with over 600 undersized conchs.
The men, Darry Flores, Allen Tuyub, Marvin Tuyub, and Adir Novelo were taken to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court where they were each read a single count of possession of undersized conch. They were represented by attorney Norman Rodriguez.
Allegations are that on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Northern Fishermen Cooperative Society Limited located at #49 North Front Street, Belize City, each with a number of the illegal fishery.
Flores allegedly had in his possession 160 undersized conchs, Allen Tuyub allegedly had 138, Marvin Tuyub allegedly had191, and Novelo allegedly had 143 undersized conchs.
They all pleaded not guilty and were offered bail in the sum of $3,000 each plus one surety of the same amount which they all met.
They are due back in court on April 14.where
