Active COVID cases below 1,000 heading into holiday weekend

By Aaron Humes: Belize’s flattening fourth wave of COVID-19 continues, with just 34 new cases reported today.

120 new recoveries were also reported for a net fall of 86. The total number of active cases is now 955 with 161 samples under investigation.

The daily positivity rate is just under four percent and the national recovery rate tops 97 percent even as Belize creeps toward 57 thousand total cases shy of two years since the pandemic hit.

Hospitalizations continue to be reduced and no new deaths were reported; there has been no death reported from COVID-19 in March thus far.
