Wagiya defeat Caesar Ridge 2-1 In FFB Top League

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In the battle to stay out of last place Wagiya defeated Caesar Ridge 2-1.

Orlando Velasquez Jr collected a loose ball in the box in the 20th minute and nailed it past Argentine goalkeeper Miguel Eduardo Garro Bonessi for Caesar Ridge to lead 1-0.

But Wagiya was able to turn things around.

In the 38th minute, Warren Moss blasted a shot that went past defenders and keeper Jason Thurton, ricocheted off the right post into the goal to even the score at 1-1.

Then in the 64th, Moss hit a second goal. He collected the ball on the left, ran into the box, flipped the ball out to Steven Verdugo who sent it back to him. Moss controlled the ball, moved to the right, seeing a whole between two defenders, he unleashed a rocket which sailed into the goal next to the right-hand side post for the final 2-1 score.

Wagiya moved up to four points but are still in the fifth position after Garden City gained a point against the San Pedro Pirates.

For Caesar Ridge, they are holed-in last place without a point to show for their efforts in five games.
