Posted: Tuesday, March 8, 2022. 9:51 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Police say they have yet to uncover anything to indicate any impairment or impediment to 27-year-old Abner Magana, who crashed to death on a scooter that ran out of control on a bridge along the Yo Creek Road.

Northern news outlet CTV-3 reports that according to his family, Magana was headed to San Lazaro from Yo Creek on an errand.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Director for the Belize Police Department, reported: “Friday around 1:20 p.m., police visited a scene on the Yo Creek Road and when they arrived there, they were informed that the motionless body of Abner Magana was removed from under the bridge in Yo Creek Village. An initial investigation revealed that he was driving his scooter on that road when he lost control and ran into the bridge and ended up under the bridge. He was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”

ASP Yearwood confirmed that police continue their investigations.
