Belize to join mark registration system, establish mariculture policy

By Aaron Humes: In other Cabinet news, the Executive gave its approval for the Attorney General’s Ministry to make the necessary legislative preparation for Belize to accede to the Madrid System for the International Registration of marks known as the Madrid Protocol which will form a part of the domestic legal framework.

Belize Intellectual Property Office (BELIPO) personnel will be trained in preparation for the full implementation of this protocol.

And, Cabinet gave its approval for the Ministry of the Blue Economy & Civil Aviation to present for adoption a draft National Mariculture Policy that will guide the development of a sustainable mariculture industry in Belize.
