By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A one-month senior division basketball tournament is set to tip off on Friday, March 18, in San Ignacio and Santa Elena.
According to information out of Cayo, the Cayo Sports Council and the Cayo Town Council are organizing the tournament to be played at the Sacred Heart College Auditorium.
The winning team will earn a prize of $1500. Second place will get $750 and third place $500.
Additionally, the winning teams will also receive trophies.
The last DIGI/BECOL 2019 Championship the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Basketball Association had, finished in December 2019. The Misfits, SHC, Venom, Falcons, Western Queens, Vipers, and Western Warriors crowned themselves champs in the different divisions. The SSBA is hoping to stage its competition later this year.
