Verdes drop Altitude again, 2-0 this time in FFB Top League

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: National football champions Verdes maintained their dominance of subchamps Altitude and beat them 2-0 at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan on Sunday.

So far in the two 2021-22 championships, Verdes have beaten Altitude twice and drawn the other game.

In the 63rd minute, Darrel Myvett scored the game opener off a header over goalkeeper Oscar Palomino off a corner kick from Edwin Villeda.

Then in the 71st, Villeda collected a loose ball on the right side, he ran into the box and sent a cross to the middle to Juan Carlos ‘Chino’ Lopez who tipped it in between two defenders. Keeper Palomino was away from the play.

The Green Machine now have 15 points from five games, widening the gap over San Pedro, by five, and Altitude, by six.

With 43 cumulative points to Altitude’s 29, Verdes are also one point shy of taking possession of the Concacaf League ticket.
