By BBN Staff: A Belmopan resident has had several charges filed against her after she allegedly assaulted a police officer while out at the La Ruta Maya Belize River Challenge over the weekend.
Twenty-seven-year-old Enriquetta Teul was arraigned in court today facing charges of assaulting a police officer, harm, threatening words, and damage to property, in relation to Police Officer #1708, Linda Cassanova.
Reports are that on March 6, Teul was having a domestic dispute with her common-law husband when police intervened. During the intervention, Teul allegedly became violent with PC Cassanova. Apart from assaulting the officer, Teul also allegedly threatened to kill PC Cassanova whenever she got free.
In court, Teul pleaded not guilty to all charges and was granted bail in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same, which she was able to meet.
Teul is due back in court on May 24.
