Fabers’ Road residents charged with promoting gang activity on video

Posted: Wednesday, March 9, 2022. 10:19 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: A pair of Belize City men used video and social media to allegedly display gang connections and make threats of violence, openly displaying a firearm.

Tonight, 25-year-old George Lewis and 23-year-old Julius Dawson are remanded to the Central Prison after pleading not guilty before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson to producing a video recording to promote gang activity (Dawson alone) and using a video recording to promote gang activity (both).

Authorities alleged that the video was recorded in and around January at a residence on Fabers Road Extension and showed a firearm for which neither had a gun license, deemed to be promoting gang-related activity.

Due to the nature of the offense, they were denied bail and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until May 18, 2022.
