Prime Minister John Briceño attends Investment and Business Opportunities Seminar in Taiwan

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Prime Minister John Briceño attended and Investment and Business Opportunities Seminar in Taiwan on Thursday.

“The Seminar on the New Era of Investment and Business Opportunities Stimulated by the Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA) between Taiwan and Belize” was held by the Embassy of Belize in Taiwan and the Central American Trade Organization (CATO).

According to the Belize Embassy, Ambassador Jaime Briceño made a presentation on trade and investment opportunities in Belize. These opportunities are now possible after the Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA) between the two countries entered into effect in January 2022.

“As the title of the symposium indicates, the passage of the ECA has created a new era of business opportunities and investment between Belize and Taiwan,” said Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan Dr Candice Pitts.

“The records have shown that FTAs (Foreign Trade Agreements) and ECAs between Taiwan and its allies improved trade and investment astronomically for those countries. We hope for and will work towards the same for Belize.”

The Northern Fishermen Cooperative Society Ltd signed a letter of intent of Cooperation with the YEN & Brothers company. The signing was by CATO Director of , Augusto Liao, said the Belize Embassy.
