Fire claims house on Jasmine Street

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a reported house fire early on Saturday in Belize City.

A white bungalow cement house, 10 by 12 feet, at 163 Jasmine Street, was found engulfed in flames.

Fire personnel managed to extinguish the fire but were unable to save it or its contents.

Resident Deserre Hamilton smelt smoke around 12:20 in the morning and found the fire in a room of the house.

The cause of the fire and the estimated cost of the damages are yet to be ascertained.
