University of Edinburg Belize Weather

Posted: Monday, March 14, 2022. 7:07 am CST.

The National Meteorological Service says that while wet conditions presently prevail, a gradual decrease in showery activity is expected over the course of today.

For the next 24 hours, skies will be mostly cloudy with a few showers and periods of rain mainly offshore and in the center of the country this morning. Activity is expected to gradually decrease later today and be confined to isolated areas except for parts of the coast and offshore tonight.

High temperatures peak at 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 84 degrees inland; and 74 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures are 77 degrees along the coast; 70 degrees inland and 65 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly at five to 15 knots. The sea will be moderate to rough with waves of four to seven feet. A small craft caution remains in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers.

Tides will be high at half past eight this morning and 7:41 this evening, and low at half past one this afternoon. The sun sets this evening at two minutes past six and rises at 6:01 Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday generally fair weather is expected with isolated showers only.

Our thanks to forecaster Angelia Guy at the Belize Weather Bureau, Ladyville.
