COVID wave continues to flatten

Posted: Monday, March 14, 2022. 5:17 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: As Belize approaches its two-year anniversary of the first reported case of COVID-19 here, the recent wave continues to flatten.

Over the weekend there were 37 new cases of the disease reported countrywide; however, this was dwarfed by the 151 new recoveries also reported by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The national recovery rate is above 98 percent even as the total number of cases passes 57 thousand, with 132 samples under investigation.

No new deaths were reported and hospitalizations remain stable.
