By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Paulita Chavarria won the final sprint to take the 60-mile Women’s Westrac/M&M Engineering Belmopan Cycling Classic on Sunday, March 13.
The Women’s race organized by the Cycling Federation of Belize (CFB) started at 9:20 am in front of Westrac on Forest Drive in Belmopan, travelled to Rockville on the George Price Highway, and returned to Belmopan finishing at the Governor General’s Field.
Chavarria clocked three hours, five minutes, and nine seconds (3:05:09).
C-Rays Gabrielle Gabrielle finished second and unattached Nathalie Lovell took third, both with the same time as Chavarria.
BFSC’s Fiona Castillo rode in fourth 16 minutes and ten seconds later in 3:21:19. Masters rider Shalini Zabaneh of Team Sagitun did not finish
