Prime Minister announces Taiwan grant for San Pedro Town Hospital

By Aaron Humes: Prime Minister John Briceño has announced during his Budget presentation that Ambergris Caye will finally get its long-awaited public health care facility.

A $33 million grant from the Republic of China (Taiwan) will cover design and construction, scheduled to start in the forthcoming fiscal year.

Briceño said the structure will hold 45 beds and cover 8 thousand square feet and fulfill a promise made by both administrations to the tourist hub.
