Stann Creek win the FFB Elite Women’s U20 National Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Stann Creek District Women’s U20 Selection defeated the Cayo District Selection 2-1 to capture the FFB Elite Women’s U20 National Champions at the FFB Stadium on Saturday.

Cayo’s Rashel Dawson scored the game opener in the 69th but Stann Creek rebounded on a brace by Shendra Casimiro in the 75th and 80th minutes to take the championship.

Florine Vasquez was voted the Best Player of the national tournament and received the Golden Ball. Shante Chacon won the tournament’s Golden Boot as the topscorer. Loraine Crawford was voted best goalkeeper and received the Golden Gloves award while Jesse McLaughlin got the Best Defender award.
