Belize Women’s National Football Team wins friendly game 3-0 over El Estor in Guatemala

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Women’s National Football Team (BWNT) on Thursday won 3-0 over FCF El Estor on Thursday, March 17, in Buenos Aires, Department of Izabal, in Guatemala.

Thursday’s afternoon match at the Estadio Comunal in Buenos Aires, Izabal, was the BWNT’s second game in three days, said the FFB.

Jada Brown scored a brace in the first half and Sabrina Eiley hit the third in the second half.

On Tuesday, the BWNT lost 3-2 to Moralense at Estadio María Mena in Morales. Alisha Terry converted both goals for the BWNT.

The BWNT played these games in preparation for the Concacaf Women’s World Cup Qualifiers. Belize will play Aruba on Wednesday, April 6, in Belize and will then face Barbados on Tuesday, April 12, in the Dominican Republic. The BWNT’s first two matches in the World Cup Qualifiers were negative losing 0-6 to El Salvador and 0-8 to Panama. At this point they can no longer qualify to the next round, but as a matter of pride our Belizean representatives need to improve their level.
