By BBN Staff: A fifth person has been charged in relation to the robbery/stabbing of 55-year-old Jamaican national Denham Roy Sr, which occurred on March 9.
Today, 18-year-old Ladyville Village resident Daniel Robinson, appeared this morning in the presence of his attorney, Norman Rodriguez where a plea was made for bail, since Robinson reportedly suffers from seizures and incarceration would prove dangerous for him.
Despite this plea, bail was also denied to him and he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until May 10, 2022.
Robison now joins four others who have been remanded in connection with the incident. They are James and Jeremiah Bainton (brothers) and their cousin, Tanisha Bainton, and Patrick Canelo, all residents of Ladyville.
The allegation against the group is that they robbed Roy at knifepoint on the night of March 9, stealing from him $4,500 in cash and a $200 cellphone. They also allegedly stabbed him in the commission of the robbery.
