Police on mobile patrol detain accused shooter

By Aaron Humes: Police say they have detained an individual who is alleged to have fired at them during a pursuit in the Port Loyola area Wednesday night.

The Police Precinct One support team responded to reports of shots fired on Gill Street after eight p.m. and chased a blue Ford Explorer leaving the area.

According to police, a passenger in the vehicle fired a shot at them near Arlington Drive, but at the corner with Custard Apple Street the vehicle crashed.

Police detained the passenger they believed to have fired at them and are looking for the driver. They have also recovered the firearm suspected to have been used.

Police investigations continue.
