A Royal Welcome: William and Kate touch down in Belize

By BBN Staff: Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, and Kate, have officially landed in Belize at the Philip Goldson International Airport to kick off their tour of the Caribbean, in commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

The couple have just exited their plane along with the royal party and were greeted by Belizean officials supported by a military display to greet the royals.

The couple was warmly greeted by Governor-General Froyla Tzalam and Ministry of Foreign Affairs CEO Amalia Mai before being saluted by the Belize Defense Force with the Belize National Anthem.

The tour begins in earnest tomorrow, Sunday, with a visit to an alternate cacao farm in Toledo and a stop in Hopkins at a Garifuna cultural festival.
